Are there any changes to this year’s #iGiveCatholic campaign? Yes! Based on your feedback, we are implementing two changes to make participating even easier and more impactful:
1) No required giving platform. Organizations are no longer required to use the #iGiveCatholic giving platform in order to register. This eliminates duplicate processing efforts, separate acknowledgement processes, and high transaction fees. Instead, you may provide a link to your own donation page, which we will direct donors to.
For organizations that prefer a hosted giving page, we will still provide that option. Please note: this year’s platform is different from previous years, but our team is here to as a resource for that page. Ultimately, our goal is to make it as easy as possible to showcase the power of giving Catholic!
For the benefit of donors, we will also continue to offer a consolidated donation page where gifts to multiple organizations can be made in a single transaction. We will process and share that information with you accordingly.
2) Volunteer hours reporting. This year, we will also collect and report volunteer hours during the giving phase of #iGiveCatholic. We recognize that giving Catholic extends beyond financial gifts, and we believe this new data point will highlight even greater impact within our community.
Some organizations may choose to log volunteer hours occurring during the giving phase. Others may use this as an opportunity to organize service projects to engage students, staff, and donors in demonstrating the importance of Catholic service.
How will these changes be implemented? We will provide a simple reporting tool for organizations to complete at their convenience during the giving phase. Participating organizations will be asked to submit cumulative totals for: Total dollars raised Number of gifts Largest Gift Volunteer hours served Number of volunteers
Below are some dates and times we recommend completing reports to be in line with announcements we will make to the broader Catholic community. You can choose to report as many times as you would like! Wednesday, November 19 by 11:59 PM Friday, November 23 by 11:59 PM Wednesday, November 25 by Noon Monday, December 1 by Noon Tuesday, December 2—#iGiveCatholic, 10:00 AM, 2:00 PM, 5:00 PM Wednesday, December 3 by Noon Tuesday, December 9 by 11:59 PM
Do gifts have to come in online to participate? Not at all! #iGiveCatholiccelebrates generosity in all its forms. Participating organizations are encouraged to accept and record offline gifts of cash or checks so they can be recognized and celebrated as part of the campaign.
